When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and password (for email/password signups).
Profile Information
We collect information you provide to build your research profile, including:

- Resume/CV content (if uploaded)

Professor Data
Information about professors you add to your account, including names, email addresses, institutions, and research areas.
Email Data
If you use our Gmail integration, we store information about emails you create and send through our platform (such as batch and send status) to help you manage your outreach. We do not access or store any emails or data from your Gmail inbox.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details directly.

4. Third-Party Services
Google/Gmail
If you connect your Gmail account, we use Google OAuth to send emails on your behalf through our platform. We only request the gmail.send scope, which allows us to send emails on your behalf. This is the only Google user data we access.
What we do: We use Gmail solely to send emails that you create and authorize through our platform to professors you select. This is the core functionality of our service.
What we do NOT do: We do not read, access, monitor, modify, or store any emails in your inbox. We do not access your email history, message content, or any other email data. We do not track email opens, replies, or any email analytics. We only use Google user data to provide the email sending functionality.
AI/ML: We do not use any Google user data for developing, improving, or training AI or ML models. We do not use Google Workspace APIs (including Gmail) to develop, improve, or train non-personalized or generalized AI or ML models. We do not transfer any Google user data obtained from Workspace APIs (including Gmail) to third-party AI tools.
OpenAI
We use OpenAI's API to power our AI features, including email generation and profile analysis. Data we send to OpenAI (such as your profile and professor data) is limited to information you provide and we store in our service; we do not send any data obtained from Google Workspace APIs. This data is used only to provide personalized features for you, not for generalized or non-personalized AI/ML models.
Stripe
We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of your payment information.
Supabase
We use Supabase for authentication and database services. Your data is stored securely in their infrastructure.
Semantic Scholar
We fetch publicly available research paper data from Semantic Scholar to analyze professor research.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect against spam and abuse. This may collect certain information as described in Google's privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
